We recently have received some inquiries about who exactly was who in GroPower, what is the relationship between this website, the GroPower Inc. website and AMCG Ltd. So we decided to post here for everyone who might have a question.
GroPower Inc is a Philippine company involved in various environmental projects. Their current project is the manufacture and support of electric vehicles. They have engaged AMCG Ltd (the owner of this website : gropower.net) to provide IT consulting services, online marketing and international marketing services for the carbon offsets.
This arrangement frees up GroPower Inc to focus on the business of running their business while tapping into the experience, expertise, marketing know how and presence of AMCG Ltd in The UK.
You can find out more about AMCG Ltd by visiting the AMCG website.
GroPower is sponsoring the Dusty Travellers on their journey around the world. The 2 young men, Marcus Berneström and Gustav Röken, are circumnavigating the globe on motorbikes to raise awareness and funds for UNICEF - United Nations Children’s’ Fund and UNHCR – United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Taken from their website:
On a mission to learn, inform and make a difference
Marcus Berneström and Gustav Röken have set off on a global adventure aimed to raise global awareness. By visiting remote places all around the globe and experience first hand what problems need to be addressed, they hope to be able to understand the vast challenges presenting themselves globally and to be able to inform the rest of the world of what they learn. If there is anything more appealing than the open road and the great unknown it must certainly be that feeling of freedom, while also doing good.
GroPower is proud to be the firm selected to provide the carbon offsets and we have agreed to offset not just the carbon, but 150% of ALL greenhouse gas emissions from the trip; taking the journey beyond carbon neutral to carbon negative.

Hi, welcome to the GroPower blog. I guess first we should introduce ourselves. We are GroPower Inc., a carbon offset company with a unique advantage. We will be launching our service within the next few days.
Like many companies we deliver carbon offsets, and like many companies we do it through planting trees. What’s unique about us is twofold. First the trees: the trees we plant are Jatropha trees, a hardy tree that can grow in a variety of conditions and produces a seed or nut with a high oil content.
This oil can be used to make biodiesel and that is just what we do with it. We sell it to biodiesel refineries. And by producing the oil for the biodiesel we are displacing conventional diesel and preventing the release of carbon that was previously locked away far underground.
But we are also making a profit, and this brings us to difference number two: Wouldn’t it be neat if the person who bought the offset also made a profit?
Glad you think so! We do too. So that is exactly what we do. When you buy an offset from GroPower you are planting trees, producing biodiesel and making a profit. Sound too good to be true?
I thought you might say that, and to be honest at first glance so did we. But as we looked at it closer we realized that not only can everyone benefit from making the world a little cleaner, but it makes perfect sense that they should.
If there is more profit then maybe there is more incentive and then maybe we can win this fight against global warming after all. We are on a mission to prove that it is possible to “profit naturally”.
Of course some will say people should do the right thing just because it’s the right thing, and in a perfect world that is exactly how it would be. But this is not a perfect world and we do have to do something about global warming before its too late. So maybe that’s all we need: more incentives to get the ball rolling and spreading the word.
But thats just our opinion. Leave a comment and let us know how you feel about it.
